Project Description

This project involves refurbishing the chemistry, physics and biology laboratories at the 48 cégeps listed below. Most of these laboratories are more than 40 years old.

The 48 Cégeps that will benefit from this project are:

Primary Areas of Benefit

  1. Expands or enhances the utility of training space: The laboratory refurbishment projects affect 3,000 professors and a large part of the college network, or close to 50,000 students. The work is necessary in order to meet the demands of the 21st century, adequately deliver pre-university science program and support various technical programs.
  2. Upgrades the health and safety aspects of facilities: Laboratory upgrades improve the health and safety aspects of facilities.
  3. Improves energy efficiency: The installation of efficient systems will lead to an estimated 5 to 35% energy efficiency improvement.
