Project Description

This project involves building a 220 square metre new Community Learning Centre to replace an aging and inadequate facility in the community of Tsiigehtchic. The building is constructed through prefabricated modular and includes 2 classrooms.

Primary Areas of Benefit

  1. Expands or enhances utility of training space: This project provides a more comfortable learning environment for students. The new Community Learning Centre is designed to incorporate new technology and furnishing suited to modern educational programs.
  2. Improves energy efficiency: The new facility significantly decreases energy consumption and related emission compared to the previous facility.
  3. Upgrades the health and safety aspects of facilities: The new Community Learning Centre provides an adult learning environment which is accessible to all community residents. The building was designed to meet the National Building Code requirements and provides wheel chair access to and within the facility.
