Project Description

This project involves the purchase and installation of information technology (IT) systems and networking hardware for all facilities operated by Nunavut Arctic College - 3 campuses, research facilities and 25 Community Learning Centres.

Primary Areas of Benefit

  1. Expands or enhances utility of training space: The new IT systems enable Nunavut Arctic College to develop a strategic partnership with CISCO Systems Inc. and major cabling manufacturers to provide professional training of Nunavut technicians in the major areas of network infrastructures telecommunications. The most significant impact of the project is the establishment of distance learning and online education programs. The upgrades to the networks create the ability to host and deliver distance education and online education programs and enhance the capacity and reach of the college.
