Agreement on Internal Trade
September 1994
The Governments of Canada, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward
Island, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan,
Alberta, British Columbia, the Northwest Territories and the Yukon
Territory,
Resolved to:
-
Promote an open, efficient and stable domestic
market for long-term job creation, economic growth and
stability;
-
Reduce and Eliminate, to the extent possible,
barriers to the free movement of persons, goods, services and
investments within Canada;
-
Promote equal economic opportunity for
Canadians;
-
Enhance the competitiveness of Canadian
business;
-
Promote sustainable and environmentally sound
development;
-
Consult on matters related to internal trade;
-
Recognize the diverse social, cultural and
economiccharacteristics of the provinces; and
-
Respect the legislative authorities of Parliament
and the provincial legislatures under the Constitution of
Canada;
- Hereby agree as follows:
