Reopening of Businesses

August 11, 2020

Some provinces have started easing restrictions put in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic and reopening non-essential businesses. In light of this and to address enquiries from some LITs, the Superintendent of Bankruptcy encourages LITs to continue their efforts to respect guidelines issued by applicable public health authorities and provincial and municipal authorities concerning the safe return to work in physical locations.

Some measures may include limitations on the number of people in a given location at a given time, wearing masks and/or other personal protection equipment, practicing good hygiene, and complying with public health guidelines regarding physical distancing.

LITs should use their judgement to ensure the health and safety of their employees and the debtors and creditors they serve.
