Improvements to the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Records
To serve you better, the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy has improved its Bankruptcy and Insolvency Records search tool. As of August 25, 2011, records of companies that have filed under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) since September 18, 2009, are included in the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Records.
In addition, we have improved navigation of the search tool:
- Logging in is now the first step in conducting a search.
- The introduction of tabs allows you to conveniently switch between searching by name or searching by file number. Tabs are also used when viewing the results of your search, with separate tabs for BIA records (includes bankruptcies, proposals, receiverships and petitions) and CCAA records.
- When you log in to the application, you will also notice the addition of a navigation menu at the top of the screen. The navigation menu includes links to Instructions (getting started and step-by-step instructions), My Account (access to records of transactions and user-management features), and Log out.
- Last, but not least, "search criteria" are now visible on each screen throughout the search.
Notes:
- Currently, records of companies that have filed under the CCAA are searchable free of charge.
- The list of all CCAA Records, in alphabetical and chronological order, remains accessible on the OSB website.
