B2B (Business-to-Business) Data Transfer
The B2B option allows Registered Intermediaries to send certain transactions directly to Corporations Canada via an electronic data file. This method of sending data is primarily for value-added providers of incorporation and related services (Registered Intermediaries). This feature allows such providers to continue to work off-line from their own customized system; have their clients sign the documents; and then create an extract of data from their system (electronic data file) and send it as a whole file attachment to Corporations Canada via the Internet. Payment by credit card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) is still required. This process eliminates the double-keying of information, but requires the one-time creation of a program to extract the data from the system in a specific ASCII file format already defined by Corporations Canada. Interested Registered Intermediaries must follow Corporations Canada’s file specifications and successfully complete the testing phase prior to being able to file such transactions.
