Extensions of Time Re: Payment of the Registration Fee

Publication Date: 1987-11-11

Effective immediately, any request for an extension of time for the sole purpose of paying the prescribed registration fee will not be granted since there are no provisions in the Trade Marks Act or Rules that would allow the granting of such extension.

When the prescribed registration fee is not paid within the 6 months time limit as set out in the notice of allowance, a Section 35 notice will be issued and the application will be abandoned as of the expiry of a 2 months period specified in the notice unless the required registration fee is paid.
