Extensions of Time Re: Section 39(2)
Publication Date: 1981-09-09
Commencing immediately, upon receipt of the initial request for an extension of time to fulfill the requirements of Section 39(2) of the Trade Marks Act, the Office will grant a standard one year extension of time in place of the six months now normally granted.
This will allow applicants, if requested, an extra period of time to commence use of their proposed trade marks. Further extensions of time past the one year period granted, will still be considered upon receipt of substantial reasons for their necessity.
