How to make a payment

Note: All fee payments must be made to CIPO in Canadian dollars. Foreign currencies will not be accepted as payment for any fees.

Modes of payment

Payments can by made by cash/debit cards, credit cards, deposit accounts, cheque/money order, wire transfer.

Submission methods

Payments can be submitted by Electronic-filing/E-payment, mail, facsimile, or in-person. The accepted modes of payment for each submission method are below:

  • For assistance, read the Electronic Payment Tips.
  • There is a limit of 500 files per credit card and deposit account transaction. There is also a limit of $99 999 for credit card transactions.
  • Only certain fees can be paid online.
