The Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) launched the new IP Agent Search tool to help our clients and innovators find registered trademark and patent agents who can assist them in protecting their intellectual property (IP).
With this beta release of the IP Agent Search tool, clients can do the following:
- search for agents near them using the Google Maps view with a geographic location option enabled
- find contact information on agents offering expertise in trademarks or patents, or in both
- export results to various formats such as Excel, PDF and XML
- print search results of specific agents
The new IP Agent Search tool is one of many online improvements that directly support CIPO's commitment to service excellence.
Only the IP agents listed on CIPO's website are qualified to act on a client's behalf with CIPO. These agents often have access to an extensive network in foreign jurisdictions, and they can help clients avoid any misleading services or scams.
