Subject: Consultation Paper on Digital Copyright Issues
To whom it may concern:
I'm writing to express my concern about the frightening stance onintellectual property taken by the Consultation Paper on Digital
Copyright Issues (CPDCI).
Seriously, people. It's not like Canadians would benefit from such legislation. The copyright holders who'll reap the rewards of our government's imcompetence, should some similar law be passed here, are the same American and Japanese mega-corporations who created the DMCA in America. Are we really that eager to become the 51st state?
I am an American citizen, recently landed in Canada. Please, for the love of God, don't make Canada into everything that I tried to get away from. Without freedom of expression, there can be no democracy.
