Dear Sirs:
I wish to express my concern regarding the intellectual property provisions of the Consultation Paper
on Digital Coyright Issues (CPCDI).
The copy prevention measures give far too much power to publishers and corporate interests, at the expense of individuals and consumers.
Thse inappropriate provisions, to amend the Canadian Copyright Act to prohibit the circumvention of copy pretection, effectively removes 'fair use' from individuals. For that reason alone these provisions should be removed from any policy recommendations.
The US DCMA with its public and terrible flaws shoud not be imported and forced on Canadians.
