Subject: DMCA
Hello from a recording artist and Music/Engineering Master's degree candidate at the University of Victoria.I write to express my grave concern regarding the extreme intellectual property provisions of the Consultation Paper on Digital Copyright Issues (CPCDI).
These measures give far too much power to publishers. What happened to the rights of the individual? The provisions serve only the corporate copyright interests, and will hurt the artistic and scientific communities.
Please remove these provisions from the CPDCI language. The DMCA is already an international debacle. Its flaws should not be imported and forced on Canadians.
Sincerely,
Ben Nevile
