Subject: Comments - Canadian Government Copyright Reform

To Industry Canada, the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Intellectual Property Policy Directorate and other concerned agencies:

I write to express my concern regarding the intellectual property provisions of the Consultation Paper on Digital Copyright Issues (CPCDI). I believe that Canada, my country, has and is leading America along the path of social justice and that this leadership must not be sacrificed to particular commercial interests. The Law adopted in Canada should, I strongly believe, reflect a faith in the ability of Canadians to prosper culturally, economically and scientifically in a new environment, the internet, that challenges our traditional views of fairness and profit.

with best regards,

Joel M. Malard, Ph.D.
