The Departments of Industry and Canadian Heritage wish to advise interested parties of the March 24, 2004 publication in Part II of the Canada Gazette of amendments to the Local Signal and Distant Signal Regulations (SOR 89-254) made pursuant to the Copyright Act. These amendments are of direct interest to broadcast distribution undertakings that retransmit over-the-air television or radio signals and to the retransmission collectives representing copyright holders.

The amendments are effective as of the date of registration, which was March 8, 2004.
