  • Businesses in operation less than one year borrowed about $572.8 million (57.5 percent) in financing.
  • Accommodation and food services was the largest industry sector in volume with $292.5 million (29.4 percent) of the total loan value.
  • There were 1,154 loans in excess of $250,000 with a value of $384.8 million (38.6 percent).
  • Financing of equipment accounted for the largest share of loans by value (44 percent) followed by leasehold improvements (31.8 percent) and real property (24.2 percent).
  • The amount of claims paid to lenders declined by $9.2 million to $67.1 million on 1,373 claims, an average of $48,869 per claim. These claims were on defaulted loans registered since 1999. The claim payments were offset by $52.4 million in revenues from fees received.
  • The more than 268,000 visits to the CSBF Program website illustrates the high level of interest in access to financing.
