- The OECD's mission is to provide governments with the analytical basis for policy formulation and advice on the scientific, technological and industrial environment and its relation to growth, employment and well-being. Part of this work includes collecting data on the Internet Economy including the Information Technology Outlook and the Communications Outlook.

Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)
- The OECD broadband portal provides access to a range of broadband-related statistics gathered by the OECD. The OECD has identified five main categories (penetration, usage, coverage, prices, and services and speeds) which are important for assessing broadband markets.

- The ITU is the leading United Nations agency for information and communication technologies. The ITU's role in helping the world communicate spans 3 core sectors: radiocommunication, standardization and development for which they collect a wide range of data. In addition they publish the World Information Society Report - The report tracks progress in digital opportunity for 181 economies over the past few years since the start of the WSIS process and is accompanied by a series of tables providing the latest statistics on the development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) worldwide.

- This report is a unique benchmarking tool to determine national ICT strengths and weaknesses as well as evaluate progress. In addition, it highlights the continuing importance of ICT applications and development for economic growth. The report includes the Networked Readiness Index which measures the degree of preparation of a nation or community to participate in and benefit from ICT developments.

Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU)
- The EIU publishes an annual e-readiness ranking of the world's largest economies. The ranking model evaluates the technological, economic, political and social assets of 69 their cumulative impact on their respective information economies. E-readiness is the "state of play" of a country's information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and the ability of its consumers, businesses and governments to use ICT to their benefit.
