The Regional Emergency Telecommunications Committee, RETC, is a forum to discuss regional emergency telecommunications issues and initiatives. It serves to provide opportunities for the development of contacts amongst industry and government interests in emergency telecommunications. The membership is primarily made up of federal departments and agencies, but representation is also present from provincial governments, public and private agencies and individuals with interests in regional emergency telecommunications relevant to the region and the membership. RETC meetings are chaired by regional or district representatives of Industry Canada.
Each of the five regions in Canada hold RETC meetings. Each are unique in that they respond to regional emergency telecommunication priorities and interests.
