OTTAWA, October 15, 2009 — The Honourable Tony Clement, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC), today announced the reappointment of Mr. Bhagwant Parmar to the Board of Directors of the CTC.
“We are very pleased Mr. Parmar will continue to serve the CTC as a board member,” said Minister Clement. “His experience in, and service on behalf of, the hospitality and tourism industry in Canada is unmatched.”
Mr. Parmar is the owner and operator of the Travelodge Hotel, Days Inn Hotel and Quality Hotel Conference Centre & Spa in Brockville, Ontario. He was first appointed to the CTC on October 30, 2006. Mr. Parmar is a recipient of the Hotel Association of Canada’s Humanitarian Award, recognizing his 17 years of hospitality, accommodation and business development services.
