In line with its policy of continuous legislative renewal, the Bureau has been considering the kind of changes that would be desirable for the next round of amendments to meet the challenges of the changing economy. However, recent public interest in competition and the effectiveness of the Competition Act has led to pressures for further, more immediate changes, notably those in the four Private Members' bills which are annexed to this discussion paper.
