Corporate and Portfolio Office (CPO)
The Corporate and Portfolio Office (CPO) provides executive support to the offices of the Minister of Industry, the Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism), the Minister of State (Science and Technology) (Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario), the Deputy Minister and the Senior Associate Deputy Minister. The CPO also plays a broad coordination role with the eleven Industry Portfolio (IP) partners.
The CPO provides support in the areas of: correspondence, corporate services (i.e., administration, finance, and human resources); parliamentary affairs and appointments; ministerial tours and portfolio management. Under the direction of the Corporate Secretary, the CPO groups responsible for providing support are: Executive Correspondence and Records, Executive Services, Parliamentary Affairs and Appointments, and Ministerial Tours.
The eleven organizations comprising the Industry Portfolio are:
- Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC);
- Canadian Space Agency (CSA);
- Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC);
- Copyright Board Canada (CB);
- Industry Canada (IC);
- National Research Council of Canada (NRC);
- Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council Canada (NSERC);
- Registry of the Competition Tribunal (RCT);
- Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC);
- Standards Council of Canada (SCC); and,
- Statistics Canada (SC).
The following organizations are also associated with the Industry Portfolio:
