Thousands of tourists come to the Atlantic Region each summer to marvel in the endless beaches, fresh sea air, plentiful seafood and hospitality that its four provinces have to offer. In addition to all this, each of our provinces also has countless summer festivals which are sure to make you a repeat visitor!
New Brunswick is also known as the Picture Province, this Canadian province is a picturesque province that offers a variety of beautiful attractions to live up to its name. Campbelton's Salmon Festival is an annual celebration of the world famous Restigouche Salmon which takes place from June 26 – July 5. Many events, new and traditional, are organized for all ages. These include: Miss and little Miss Salmon Festival Pageants, Canada Day Celebrations with giant fireworks, salmon suppers, Street Fest, Parking Lot Party with live bands, show and shine, book sale, pet show, Campbell Amusements Carnival, bowling tournament, many family activities, gigantic parade and much more. These exceptional events celebrated with family and friends will lead you through one week of well deserved fun. Put your feet up… or kick your heels… and experience fine Maritime hospitality at the Salmon Festival in Campbellton.
The Fundy Bay Festival will be an awakening! A celebration! A mixture of music, dance, theatre and visual arts will be a feast for the senses and the Saint John regions first multi-cultural festival. The Festival will showcase outstanding performers and artists, create a positive atmosphere for family and friends and raise awareness of our diverse, colourful, spirited community. Join us from August 6–9!
Throughout the Acadian Peninsula, more than 100 communities will offer a number of activities highlighting the cultural richness of the host region. The 2009 World Acadian Congress is a reunion of Acadians and guests from around the world. More than 225 activities are on the program in 80 of the Acadian Peninsula's nearly 100 towns which will take place from August 7 to 23. The last World Acadian Congress held in Nova Scotia welcomed more than 45,000 people to the popular events. The Congress is held every 5 years, rotating between NB, NS and Louisiana. Obviously this event has spin-offs for tourism and economic development in rural communities.

Join us at the St. John's Times for 11 days of festival and fun from July 30 – August 9! Festivals include the George Street Festival, the Royal St. John's Regatta, St. John's Downtown Buskers Festival, the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival and many more things to see and do!
Are you interested in attending a variety of different events including music, theatre and community festivals but can't choose which one? Then the Festivals and events at Gros Morne National Park. Is the place for you. Throughout July and August you can attend events such as the annual community festivals, Writers at Woody Point, the Gros Morne Theatre Festival and the Gros Morne Summer Music.
All summer long in Trinity — Summer in the Bight Festival presents a festival of plays, dinner theatre, concerts and special events in outdoor venues all around the Bight. Beginning in the last week in June and running until the first week in September audiences can enjoy at least eight different productions of music, comedy and drama performed on a rotating basis, as well as several one-time only special shows.

Nova Scotia is arguably best known for its music. While popular music from many genres has experienced almost two decades of explosive growth and success in Nova Scotia, the province remains best known for its folk and traditional based music. The Royal NS International Tattoo will take place from July 1–8 and features over 2,000 world-class Canadian and international military and civilian performers, the Tattoo continues to live up to its reputation as one of the world's premiere cultural and entertainment events.
Tall Ships NS Festival 2009 will be docking in our harbours from July 16 to August 1, 2009. Tall Ships gatherings have occurred in Halifax four times over two decades. Following the magnificent Parade of Sail in Halifax on Monday, July 20, designated ships will head north to Cape Breton, making stops in Port Hawkesbury, Louisbourg and Sydney while others will head to the mainland ports including Lunenburg and Pictou. Expected to capture an audience of 20,000.
The Halifax International Buskers Festival 2009 will take place from August 6 to 16 and will showcase up to 25 of the best street performers in the world who will play, act and entertain in a continuous, revolving show on five stages along the waterfront. Over 11 days, around half a million people stroll by to enjoy it all, perhaps stopping off at a beer tent along the way. Children find plenty to occupy their time, too, with face painters and an interactive children's village. A town better known for its quiet historic beauty bursts into noisy life with music, magic and fun for the whole family with this popular open-air festival by the sea. A busker is defined as any kind of street performer, so there are comedians, pavement artists and mime performers too.

Prince Edward Island is known for its beautiful sandy beaches and dunes and is also the home of the gregarious Anne Shirley from Lucy Maud Montgomery's classic Anne of Green Gables. If you plan on visiting the island, don't miss out on the following festivals which are sure to make a repeat visitor out of you!
The Charlottetown Festival takes place from June 18 to September 26 and features professional musical theatre, including Anne of Green Gables — The Musical™ and Disco Cirque, free outdoor performances, gallery exhibitions, dining and shopping. Named a top 100 Event in North America for 2008 by the American Bus Association.
Canada's Seashore Festival takes place from July 10 to 12 and showcases the best in sand sculpting talent, with competitions among master sculptors and a Family Fun Challenge on Atlantic Canada's favourite beach! Cavendish and the North Shore communities come to life with sand sculpting demonstrations, beach volleyball competitions, a giant family party, musical entertainment, children's theatre, shellfish tasting, fishing excursions, and more!
The "Mermaid Tears" Sea Glass Festival takes place on July 17 and 18 and showcases lecture, book signing, shard appraisals by Richard La Motte, author of "Pure Sea Glass", shard best of show, demonstrations, sales by artisans, children's activities, lighthouse tours, barbecue, silent auction, bake table.
