Canada's industrial marine sector comprises some 400 companies that provide a large, diverse range of products and services supporting marine activities including shipbuilding and repair.
Products and services include naval architectural, engineering, and project delivery services and software; navigation and communications equipment and software; voyage data recorders; security, monitoring, and night vision equipment; metal, fibre glass and plastic castings and machining; glass, doors and windows, and partitions; bearing and seal systems; coatings, paints, and anti-corrosion products; waste and water treatment systems; valves, pipes and fittings; hydraulic and lifting equipment and systems; winches, pulleys and deck machinery; pumps and compressors; solvents and cleaners; oil containment and clean-up systems and products; safety and survival clothing and products; tie-down and stowage equipment; marine lighting , searchlights, navigation lights; marine control systems; sound and signalling products; heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment (HVAC); robotics; heat exchangers; insulation; dampers, expansion joints; steering gear, brakes, shafts; marine chains, bolts, cables; vibration and noise control products; inflatable boats and rigid hull inflatable boats; underwater vehicles; and other specialized marine industrial and defence equipment.
