Food and Beverage Manufacturing Trade Sector Review

To maintain a fair and competitive marketplace, Measurement Canada has conducted a review of the rules and practices governing the buying and selling of manufactured food and beverage products based on measurement. The review was completed in May 2009.

Purpose of the Review?

The goal of the review was to consult with those involved in the food and beverage manufacturing sector to determine:

  • the requirements needed to ensure measurement accuracy;
  • the measurement related programs needed and how these programs could be best provided; and
  • how involved Measurement Canada needs to be in order to ensure measurement fairness and accuracy.
