Waste Management

To maintain a fair and competitive marketplace, Measurement Canada conducted a review of the rules and practices governing the buying and selling of Waste Management products and services based on measurement. The review was completed in June 2012.

Purpose of the Review

The goal of the review was to consult with those involved in the waste management sector to determine:

  • the requirements needed to ensure measurement accuracy;
  • the measurement-related programs needed and how these programs could best be provided;
  • how involved Measurement Canada needs to be in order to ensure measurement fairness and accuracy.
