1. The purpose of this bulletin is to establish the policy for the application of verification marks to electricity and gas meters.
2. A verification mark includes any seal, stamp, tag, or label which identifies the verifier and the year in which the verification takes place.
3. No meter shall have a verification mark applied to it until it has been verified or reverified as having complied with all the requirements specified for its verification or reverification.
4. The verification mark applied to an electricity or gas meter shall bear the calendar year in which the inspection leading to the verification of the meter was performed.
5. This policy precludes the verification or reverification of meters in one year and their sealing with the following year's verification mark.
