Gas Pressure Standards Calibration Laboratory

Overview

Measurement Canada’s gas flow and pressure calibration services are delivered in accordance with the Electricity and Gas Inspection Act and Regulations. Calibration services are available for specific pressure gauges by organizations recognized by Measurement Canada with Delegation of Authority C-D-01.

Scope

Digital Pressure Gauges

Digital Pressure Controllers (0 – 3000 psi)

  • Method: Calibrated against Measurement Canada’s reference deadweight tester.

Load Differential Pressure Gauges (0 – 29psi) and Static Pressure Gauges (0 – 3000psi)

  • Method: Direct comparison to digital pressure controllers calibrated in relation to NRC’s primary deadweight testers
  • Measurement conditions:
    • Temperature: 20 ±1°C change <0.5°C/h
    • Pressure: Positive @ 0.15 inches of water related to corridor
    • Humidity: 50% ±5%
  • Calibration location: Measurement Canada Laboratory, Ottawa

Dead Weight Tester

  • Working Level Standard: 0 – 2500 psi
  • Method: Direct comparison to digital pressure controllers calibrated in relation to NRC traceable primary dead weight testers
  • Measurement conditions:
    • Temperature: 20 ±1°C change <0.5°C/h
    • Pressure: Positive @ 0.15 inches of water (relative to corridor)
    • Humidity: 50% ±5%
  • Calibration location: Measurement Canada Laboratory, Ottawa

Barometer (0-20 psia)

  • Method: Direct comparison to secondary digital barometer calibrated in relation to the National Research Council’s dead weight tester
  • Measurement conditions:
    • Temperature: 20 ±1°C change <0.5°C/h
    • Pressure: positive @ 0.15 inches of water (relative to corridor)
    • Humidity: 50% ±5%
  • Calibration location: Measurement Canada Laboratory, Ottawa
