4.0 Application of Lengthened Initial Reverification Periods to Qualified Meters
4.1 The lengthened initial reverification periods for qualified meter types included in Table 1 are as communicated in Bulletin G-18.
4.2 A lengthened initial reverification period may be granted to qualified meters that are new or renewed and initially verified on or after the applicability date given in Table 1.
4.3 A lengthened initial reverification period may be granted retroactively to qualified:
- diaphragm meters that are still within an initial reverification period as of the applicability date given in Table 1;
- electronic volume conversion devices that are still within a 7 year initial reverification period as of the applicability date given in Table 1 and that have not been subjected to calibration adjustments or component exchanges during that period.
5.0 Application of Subsequent Reverification Period to Qualified Meters
5.1 The subsequent reverification periods associated with the lengthened initial reverification periods for qualified meter types included in Table 1 are as communicated in Bulletin G-18.
5.2 The subsequent reverification period referenced in clause 5.1 shall not be granted retroactively to qualified meters within a subsequent reverification period as of the applicability date given in Table 1.
5.3 The subsequent reverification period referenced in clause 5.1 may be granted to qualified meters that are reserviced and reverified by 100% inspection or acceptance sampling on or after the applicability date given in Table 1.
5.4 The maximum seal period extension available to homogeneous lots of qualified meters in service, initially or retroactively granted a lengthened initial reverification period and reverified by compliance sampling methods, is based on the lengthened initial reverification period.
6.0 Revisions
6.1 The purpose of this revision was to replace the footnote in Table 1 with more detailed policy requirements for granting lengthened initial, and associated subsequent, reverification periods to qualified meters.
6.2 The purpose of revision 2 was to add electronic volume conversion devices with pressure or pressure and temperature conversion functions that have qualified for a lengthened initial reverification period.
6.3 The purpose of revision 1 was to add temperature only electronic volume conversion devices that have qualified for a lengthened initial reverification period.
