This part of the Specifications applies to meters which are submitted for approval and measure the mass flow rate of a flowing gas.
- Coriolis mass flow meter (débitmètre massique à effet de Coriolis)
A meter is comprised of one or more oscillating tubes and electromagnetic components. All meter components are installed together in a metering assembly and measure the mass flow rate of the gas travelling through the system.
The applicable requirements of Part 1, section 6.0 shall apply unless otherwise stated in this section.
3.1 The unit of measurement shall be the kilogram.
4.0 Metrological requirements
The applicable requirements of Part 1, section 7.0 shall apply unless otherwise stated in this section.
4.1 Maximum permissible errors
The following MPEs shall apply to the true mass registration at any flow rate within the flow rate range for which approval is sought (see Part 6, Table 1).

4.3 Maximum peak-to-peak error
The maximum peak-to-peak error shall be as specified in Part 6, Table 3.

5.0 Marking requirements
In addition to the applicable requirements of Part 1, section 9.0, the following shall apply.
5.1 The maximum mass flow rate shall be marked on the nameplate.
6.0 Performance tests
The applicable requirements of Part 1, section 12.0 shall apply unless otherwise stated in this section.
6.1 Operating conditions
6.1.1 Variation of mass flow rate
The meter shall be tested at various pressures over its rated operating pressure range.
6.2 Test medium
The meter shall be tested using dry compressed air, properly filtered to remove foreign matter.
6.3 Evaluation tests
Subject to 6.1, tests shall be performed at flow rates distributed over the measuring nominal mass flow rate range with a test medium as specified in 6.2 at reference and "other than reference" conditions (see Part 6, Table 4).
