Integrated purchases in apps and online games – consumer challenges
The purpose of this Union des consommateurs (UC) research is to examine how in-app purchases work in games and apps, regardless of whether they are designed for adults or children. UC will focus mainly on the latter, which raises additional issues (i.e. consent and the responsibility of account and credit card holders). In both cases, UC will attempt to identify the issues this business model raises and the solutions being considered.
