Philosophy of Care:
To inspire children, need to create a safe and warm environment that encourages creative thinking and cooperation.
Exemplary Practices:
Play activities are designed to help children develop and grow while learning to get along with others. Children are also encouraged to share their cultural heritage through song, art, dance, food and pictures.
Ms. Hawes Cook visits each family before the child begins preschool to help parents ease the child into the school routine. She also encourages parents to participate in classroom activities as often as is possible.
Ms. Hawes Cook is a well-respected professional. She works tirelessly on behalf of the rights of children, and is only one of a few Canadians who are members of the USA's Children's Rights Council based in Washington, D.C.
