Students, and how they learn, are the focus of the Riverside Consolidated School Science Project, spearheaded by Barbara Gebuhr at the school in rural New Brunswick. The program is structured to accommodate studentsþ varying learning abilities and allow teachers to plan a curriculum that doesn't rely solely on textbooks and classroom-based learning. Ms. Gebuhr's students regularly venture outside the classroom to see science in action at facilities such as a mussel farm and bird sanctuary.
