Westmount Secondary School
Robert Herd and his six-person Math Department staff at Westmount Secondary School in Hamilton, Ontario are trying out a bold new approach to math education for the school. Students work at their own pace using learning guides developed by the team to direct them through the curriculum. The students are entrusted to judge for themselves, with the help of self-evaluation tools, when it is time for them to try a formal exam or test on the material they have studied.
