Alfred Chan

Alfred Chan's Mentorship Program for the Toronto Board of Education is helping the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine increase the number of students in Health Sciences who are of aboriginal or black ancestry. Practising physicians act as mentors for targetted students and encourage them to pursue medical careers. All of the participating students thus far have stayed in school, and some went on to university, including a few who could not before have imagined even finishing high school.
