Teaching Approach:
- Teach and be a role model for appropriate social skills (such as respect and listening), personal quality skills (such as responsibility and honesty) and focused behaviour and autonomy skills (such as self-discipline and control of impulses).
- Develop community and business partnerships to ensure students have the skills they need to flourish in today's world.
Outstanding Achievements:
- Designed and facilitated a district-wide initiative called YES (Youth Engaged in Social Responsibility). Participants discussed social responsibility and came up with action plans to help their communities and others around the world.
- Co-developed a program for transitional English as a Second Language (ESL) students to better prepare them for final exams. Students who followed the program scored within one percent of the marks obtained by non-ESL students taking the exam.
