Teaching Approach:
- Use a discovery, resource-based multiple intelligences approach to instruct students.
- Incorporate technology such as digital still and movie cameras, and graphic, photo and movie editing software in virtually every lesson plan.
Outstanding Achievements:
- Has directed the Screen Arts Student Festival, a festival of film and new media open to high school students from across Canada, for the past five years. The festival, which Holy Heart hosts and is run by students and funded by the community, accepts entries in English and French.
- Students have won awards for art or film from, among others, Industry Canada, Heritage Canada, Newfoundland-Labrador Human Rights Association, Memorial University, CIDA, the provincial Protected Areas Association and the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts and Letters Competition.
