Teaching Approach
- Combine a physical education credit, a leadership credit and an interdisciplinary credit to produce a unique educational experience for students.
- Students participate in consensus-building activities, develop their leadership skills, test their physical and mental limits so that, while learning about the outdoors, they also discover their own special qualities and gifts.
Outstanding Achievements
- Developed a program for students with behavioural patterns that cause them to struggle in classroom environments. The program helps these students develop better social interactions with one another and with authority figures, allowing them to break out of frustrating and self-defeating behaviours.
- Broke down barriers between university- and college-stream courses by creating a course curriculum that provides a credit for both so that these students can work together.
