Teaching Approach
- Help sensitive but gifted children adapt to the school environment and respond to the challenges it offers them.
- Foster confidence, independence and social responsibility and teach children how to care for one another in each class.
Outstanding Achievements
- Recognizing that gifted learners need to keep up in other areas, Ms. Redmond focuses on the child's global development. For example, she sometimes has students do motivating and fun mathematics work while sitting on large balls, which requires muscle control and balance, two areas they might be less interested in developing.
- Models how children can overcome challenges by showing them how she copes despite her hearing impairment.
Rave Reviews
"Although I don't have her now as a teacher, I still maintain contact with her and talk to her whenever I see her. She not only taught me things indicated in the curriculum, but also many other things-including life lessons." Student
"Having known her professionally for several years, I regularly marvel at the way in which she seems to know her students and see in each of them the best they have to give. It seems as though she is a mirror, reflecting back to each individual student that which they most want the world to see." Parent
