Teaching Approach
- Encourage young students to be problem solvers and decision makers and to take risks, using trial and error and Montessori materials.
- Be aware of the strengths and weaknesses of each student and program according to their needs. Have students participate in the evaluation of their learning through teacher-student conferences and peer evaluations.
Outstanding Achievements
- Organized a science fair for Grade 1 and 2 students. The students set up approximately 50 displays, and the experiments and inquiry they did in preparation built up their enthusiasm to learn science.
- Helps students learn complex concepts through imaginative exercise. For example, Mrs. Sivarajah had her class re-imagine the story "Three Little Pigs"from the wolf's perspective to help them understand point of view.
