Photo Captions

Photos that are posted on the departmental website should be accompanied by the following information and formatted as indicated:

  • Title—Use title case.
  • Subheading (on two lines)—Indicate the city and province or territory where the photo was taken in the first line; indicate the date of the event in the second line. This information does not need to be repeated in the cutline.
  • Cutline—Include a descriptive paragraph about the photo or event. When possible, the main players should be identified in the cutline itself, not in a separate paragraph, and their position in the photo should appear in parentheses after their name using full words (left, right, centre, etc.), not abbreviations.
  • Source—Format as Source: Photographer's name, company (e.g., CP Images, Industry Canada)

Minister of State Goodyear Meets with Florida’s Lieutenant Governor, Encourages S&T Links with Canada

The Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State (Science and Technology) (right), met with Florida Lieutenant Governor Jennifer Carroll in Orlando, Florida, on July 6. Minister of State Goodyear promoted greater collaboration between Canadian and Floridian researchers and learned about Florida's science and technology sector. Trade between Canada and Florida totalled $7.9 billion in 2010.
