The feature article in the February issue highlights recent work on firm growth by the Small Business Policy Branch of Industry Canada. The report confirmed previous findings that hyper and strong-growth firms have a disproportionate impact on job creation. From 1993 to 2003, hyper-growth firms represented only 4.4 percent of all firms, but accounted for 45 percent of total job growth.
