February 2010, vol. 11, no. 4
The feature article of the February issue explores the state of entrepreneurship in Canada by comparing Canada and the United States using such measures as business birth and death rates, survival rates, and the presence of high-growth firms and gazelles. A second feature article presents findings from a recent survey on the presence of entrepreneurship education across Canadian universities and colleges. The article also identifies two areas of concern: restricted student access to and availability of entrepreneurship education, and limited support for early-stage entrepreneurship on campus. Also included in this issue are articles on job creation, which provides the distribution of payroll employment by firm size and province; business establishment statistics; and recent trends in the accessibility of business financing.
