Notice No. DGTP-001-96—Petition to the Governor in Council

Notice is hereby given that a petition has been received by the Governor in Council, under section 12 of the Telecommunications Act, in regard to a decision issued on August 15, 1995, by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, Telecom Decision 1995-17, TelRoute Communications Inc.—Bypass Restrictions.

On November 13, 1995, Teleglobe Canada Inc. filed a petition requesting that the Governor in Council vary Telecom Decision 1995-17 so as to provide that all Canadian carriers and resellers be required to file traffic reports with the Commission, and that payments of contribution on overseas traffic be eliminated.

This petition and any petition or submission made in response to it may be inspected by the public during normal business hours at the Industry Canada library, 365 Laurier Avenue West, Ottawa, Ontario, and the regional offices of Industry Canada in Halifax, Montréal, Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver. Copies of the petition and of any petition or submission received in response to it may be obtained, by mail order or over the counter, from:
