Notice No. SMBR-001-95

Broadcasting Procedures and Rules, Part I (BPR-I) Structural Adequacy of Antenna Towers and Antenna Supporting Structures

Concluding on the changes proposed in Notice No. SMBR-007-91, the Department announces the following modifications to Section 2.2 of the Broadcasting Procedures and Rules, Part I (BPR-1). As of the date of publication of this notice, the obligation to submit Form 16-619 is eliminated. However, the Department recommends that all antenna towers and antenna-supporting structures be designed, fabricated and erected in accordance with accepted Canadian standards and that a qualified structural engineer be retained by the applicant.

Versions of BPR-I issued after the date of publication of this Notice will reflect the above modifications. Copies of the BPR-I may be obtained from the Manager, Technical Information Services, Radiocommunication and Broadcasting Regulatory Branch, Industry Canada, 300 Slater Street, Ottawa, Ontario, K1A 0C8, or from the Department's regional offices in Vancouver, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montréal and Moncton.
