Notice No. SMBR - 002-95

Amendments to the Broadcasting Procedures and Rules, Part I (BPR-I) and Broadcasting Procedure 23 (BP 23) — Environmental Procedure and Radiofrequency Exposure Analysis Procedure

Industry Canada announces the following amendments to its rules and procedures governing broadcasting undertakings: 

  1. Addition of an environmental assessment procedure and modification to the radiofrequency exposure analysis procedure of the Broadcasting Procedures and Rules, Part I (BPR-I), and
  2. Amendments to the environmental assessment procedure of Broadcasting Procedure 23 (BP 23).

The Department published an environmental assessment and radiofrequency exposure analysis procedure for public comment on April 18, 1994 (SMBR-002-94). All comments received in response to the gazette notice were considered in the preparation of the new procedure.

Future versions of BPR-I and BP-23 will include these amendments in Sections 8.1 and 8.2 of BPR-I and Section 6.12 of BP-23. In the meantime, copies of these amendments may be obtained from the Publishing Service Centre, Industry Canada, 6 th floor, 300 Slater Street, Ottawa, Ontario, K1A 0C8, or from the Department's regional offices in Vancouver, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal and Moncton.
