Notice is hereby given that the Technical Subcommittee of the Canadian Interconnection Liaison Committee (CILC) is hereby releasing the Canadian Participation in 800 Number Portability Canadian Industry Guidelines, CIG-800, Release 1.1, July 14, 1994.

The CILC has finalized the guidelines that describe the implementation of Canada's participation in the Canada/U.S. 800 number portability. The document highlights the differences between the Canadian and U.S. 800 numbering systems, as well as the requirements to integrate the current Canadian system into the Canada/U.S. 800 number portability system.

Copies of the guidelines may be obtained from Industry Canada, 300 Slater Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0C8, attention DOS-PP, 613-990-4761 (Telephone), 613-952-9871 (Facsimile), or from the regional offices of Industry Canada in Vancouver, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montréal, and Moncton.

Interested parties may submit comments concerning this document to the Chairman of CILC, 300 Slater Street, Suite 1302, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0C8, within 70 days from the date of publication of this notice. All representations must cite the Canada Gazette, Part I, the publication date, and the notice reference number.

All written comments received in response to this notice will be available for public viewing during normal business hours at the Industry Canada Library, 300 Slater Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0C8, and at the regional offices of Industry Canada in Moncton, Montréal, Toronto, Winnipeg and Vancouver for a period of one year from the date of receipt of those comments.
