Notice No. SMSE-007-06 — Release of New Radio Standards Specification - RSS-111
Notice is hereby given that Industry Canada is introducing a new Radio Standards Specification, RSS-111, which sets out standards for the certification of radio transmitters and receivers in the band 4940-4990 MHz for public safety applications. The document is:
RSS-111 is being issued to provide certification requirements for radio equipment in accordance with the new Spectrum Utilization Policy 4940 MHz (SP-4940) which outlines the Department's policy for the use of the frequency band 4940-4990 MHz for public safety applications.
General Information
The above document will come into force as of the date of the publication of this notice.
This document has been coordinated with industry through the Radio Advisory Board of Canada (RABC).
The Radio Equipment Technical Standards Lists will be amended to include the relevant changes.

Interested parties should submit their comments within 90 days of the date of publication of this notice. Shortly after the close of the comment period, all comments received will be posted on Industry Canada's Spectrum Management and Telecommunications Web site at: http://www.ic.gc.ca/spectrum.
