Decision on Repurposing the 600 MHz Band

Figure 1 — 600 MHz Band Plan Framework for Canada

Figure 1 — 600 MHz Band Plan Framework for Canada

This figure shows the proposed band plan scenarios for each of the clearing targets in repurposing the 600 MHz band. For each scenario, the uplink band starts at 698 MHz, which is immediately adjacent to the 700 MHz uplink band, and extends lower in frequency between 10 and 60 MHz. The paired downlink band is separated from the uplink by a center gap of 11 MHz and from the television operations by guard bands varying between 3 to 11 MHz. Each TV channel is 6 MHz and each mobile block is comprised of 5 MHz. From line 6 to 11, there is also a 3 MHz guard band between a mobile block and channel 37, which is used for RAS.

Line Sets of paired blocks Amount of repurposed spectrum (MHz) Guard band (MHz)
1 2 42 11
2 3 48 7
3 4 60 9
4 5 72 11
5 6 78 7
6 7 84 3
7 8 106 11
8 9 114 7
9 10 126 9
10 11 138 11
11 12 144 7
