The TRM initiative is an important component of how Industry Canada interacts with industry, academic institutions, research organization and other governments. It is therefore critical to develop and implement a mechanism to monitor how well the initiative is achieving its intended results. A framework, Evaluating Technology Roadmaps, is designed to complement the Technology Roadmapping in Canada: A Development Guide, and is an essential tool for Canadian industry to better gauge how they can technologically prepare themselves to compete in a global and innovative marketplace. The framework and accompanying evaluations determine the value industry participants place on TRMs, the fulfillment of their expectations, and their level of commitment to the TRM.
